Naomi Manning
Naomi has worked in different educational contexts over the years, but
is currently working as an Audience Development Officer for the Sydney Living Museums. Previously she was one of the IT Integrators at Abbotsleigh. This role has involved
supporting staff with integrating the use of Information Technologies into the
curriculum to enhance their learning experiences. We use a range of Microsoft
technologies including Office 2013, Windows 8 on all staff and student machines
and Lync. All staff and students have a touch screen and we are moving towards
using these more effectively with use of the stylus and Apps to enhance student
learning.
The use of video conferencing is an area that she is particularly passionate about as it has seen the students here connect with people and experiences that would have otherwise been impossible. This has a huge impact on teaching and learning. I have worked on a number of projects including one connecting students to experts, taking them on virtual excursions, collaborating between our students and students in Hong Kong, United Stated and around the globe, using it for Staff PD and Intercampus meetings.
Prior to these roles Naomi worked as a classroom teacher for History, English and IT at Normanhurst Boys and Wenona and as an IT Trainer for adults at a Community College.
